 campania costiera amalfitana Salerno and Amalfi Coast: Salerno, administrative center of the province, is characterized by its port, from where ferries  frequently depart to reach Campania islands (but not only) and the Amalfi Coast towns. Not to miss is Arechi Castle on Bonadies hill, (from where the extraordinary view goes from Sorrento Peninsula to Cilento Coast) and the Norman Cathedral dedicated to San Matteo, the town patron saint. The heart of Amalfi Coast is Amalfi, of course, that gives the name  to this long part of coast where people can visit the Cathedral and its Complex  built in XII century, with the Paradise Courtyard, the Cathedral, the Crucifix Museum and Sant’Andrea Crypt; the Ancient Dockyard Museum and the Paper Museum. Then, the other towns along Amalfi Coast, like Vietri sul Mare, Cetara, Maiori, Minori, Ravello, Atrani are worth a visit too.

Pompeii. Church and Archaeological Site: Everyone knows Pompeii especially for its archaeological site, Unesco  World Heritage Site in 1997, where the ancient town covered by Vesuvius eruption in 79 A.D. was discovered.




Vesuvius: This explosive volcano in quiescence from 1944, is situated in Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio, created in 1995. Many tourists go there to do trekking up to its slopes and  e walk through  its many paths, being in contact with its abundant flora and fauna.


Paestum: Magna Grecia ancient town, Unesco  World Heritage Site in 1998, is known for its archaeological site with three Doric temples extraordinarily preserved and considered as the unique example of Magna Grecia architecture, the town Wall, the Foro and the ancient houses. An important museum was created to preserve the findings, among which the most important come from  the so called Tomb of the Diver (480-470 B.C.), the unique example of classical Greek painting in Magna .
